As she turns 100, few stories have been more remarkable than hers.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/rori\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Rosie the Riveter \/ World War II Home Front<\/a> National Historical Park, which sprawls across the former shipyards in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Richmond,_California\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Richmond, Calif.<\/a>, on the northeast edge of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/San_Francisco_Bay\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">San Francisco Bay<\/a>, tells the enormous story of the largest wartime mobilization in American history and the sweeping social changes it sparked.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors can climb aboard an enormous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/places\/ss-red-oak-victory-ship.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Victory ship<\/a>, one of more than 700 vessels produced in Richmond \u2014 and, in the gift shop, pick up swag emblazoned with the iconic image of the red-kerchiefed <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rosie_the_Riveter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rosie<\/a> herself, arm flexed up with \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/We_Can_Do_It!\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">We Can Do It!<\/a>\u201d bravado.<\/p>\n<p>But for many, the park is synonymous with another woman: Betty.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Betty_Reid_Soskin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Betty Reid Soskin<\/a>, who turns 100 on Sept. 22, is the oldest active ranger in the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/National_Park_Service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Park Service<\/a>.
