In the report, the NKF-ASN Task Force recommends the adoption of the new <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kidney.org\/atoz\/content\/gfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eGFR<\/a> 2021 CKD EPI creatinine equation that estimates kidney function without a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Race_adjustment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">race variable<\/a>. The task force also recommended increased use of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cystatin_C\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cystatin C<\/a> combined with <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Creatinine#Serum_creatinine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">serum (blood) creatinine<\/a>, as a confirmatory assessment of GFR or kidney function<\/strong>.
