This is a topic I\u2019ve held back on speaking about because of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Discrimination_based_on_skin_color\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">colourism<\/a> that is still so prevalent in the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_Kingdom\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UK<\/a>; but we can\u2019t speak about race without bringing awareness to all issues associated with it. I\u2019m a mixed-race woman, born to a Jamaican father and a white English mother. I understand my light skinned privileges.
