In 2018, Donald Glover<\/a>, a.k.a. Childish Gambino, released the viral hit song \u201cThis is America<\/a>,\u201d a razor-sharp commentary on contemporary society. In a nod to his incisive work, artist Genevieve Gaignard<\/a> presents a new exhibition, \u201cThis is America: The Unsettling Contradictions in American Identity<\/a>,\u201d at the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center<\/a> from Feb. 12 \u2013 May 15. It\u2019s the first solo exhibition of the multidisciplinary artist\u2019s photography and installation work, through which she unravels the ongoing issues complicating the identities and representations of Americans. Gaignard joined \u201cCity Lights<\/a>\u201d host Lois Reitzes<\/a> via Zoom<\/a> and curator Karen Comer Lowe<\/a> to talk about the artist\u2019s new contributions to Atlanta Contemporary.<\/p>\n
