Here, the actor talks to Micha Frazer-Carroll about her involvement in the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Black_Lives_Matter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Black Lives Matter<\/a> movement, how the pandemic has made her re-evaluate her life and why she\u2019s keenly exploring other creative avenues<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Amandla_Stenberg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amandla Stenberg<\/a> feels strikingly like hanging out with a close friend, as well as interviewing a compelling voice from <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cinema_of_the_United_States\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hollywood\u2019s<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ageing#Dividing_the_lifespan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">twentysomething<\/a> cohort. As we connect over <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Zoom_(software)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zoom<\/a>, the conversational ground quickly spans from grumbling about media depictions of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Generation_Z\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gen Z<\/a> to lamenting the elitist hierarchies that have emerged at queer Zoom parties. She also laughs a lot.<\/p>\n<p>The laughter subsides and Stenberg reflects on the turbulent times that 2020 brought. She\u2019s been <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Airbnb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Airbnb<\/a>-ing and short-term renting for two years now \u2013 between <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/New_York_City\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Los_Angeles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LA<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Paris\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paris<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Copenhagen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Copenhagen<\/a> \u2013 and has felt constantly unsettled since the pandemic hit. \u201cI think sometimes I forget the lens through which I\u2019m looking at things,\u201d she says. \u201cI can kind of get stressed out, wondering why I have so much anxiety, or why I\u2019m in a constant state of paranoia and fear \u2013 and then I remember the circumstances.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There are things to be grateful for, too, of course \u2013 she stresses that she doesn\u2019t want to sound all \u201cthe pandemmy\u2019s been so hard\u201d, particularly since the actor, whose father is Danish, spent three months of the past year in the rolling hills of rural <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Denmark\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Denmark<\/a>. \u201cThe thing I\u2019m grateful for is definitely the opportunity to move more slowly \u2013 like actually thinking about my habits, the way I move through each day and what my priorities are.\u201d&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Read the entire article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.net-a-porter.com\/en-gb\/porter\/article-9e95acbdd72f91f5\/cover-stories\/cover-stories\/amandla-stenberg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ever since her breakout role in &#8220;The Hunger Games,&#8221; Amandla Stenberg\u2019s career has gone from strength to strength.
