P. Root\u2019s<\/a> 1992 and 1996 volumes <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=1952\" target=\"_blank\">Racially Mixed People in America<\/a><\/em> and <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=4155\" target=\"_blank\">The Multiracial Experience<\/a><\/em>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uoregon.edu\/~uophil\/faculty\/profiles\/nzack\/\" target=\"_blank\">Naomi Zack\u2019s<\/a> 1995 collection <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=1939\" target=\"_blank\">American Mixed Race<\/a><\/em>.\u00a0 There are also many popular autobiographical pieces about mixed race, several periodicals devoted to mixed-race people, a deluge of talk shows on the subject, and both local and national organizations that serve as support groups or political interest groups for mixed-race people.\u00a0 Much of the more theoretical work emphasizes the issue of individual rights for mixed-race people\u2014particularly the right to an \u201caccurate\u201d racial identity on forms such as the Census.\u00a0 An enormous portion of the literature also analyzes the experiences of mixed-race individuals from a sociological or psychological point of view.
