Hamilton<\/a><\/strong>, Professor of Psychology<br \/>\n<em>University of California, Santa Barbara<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We used a <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Psychophysical\" target=\"_blank\">psychophysical<\/a> approach to studying the categorization of biracials. The point-of-subjective-equality (PSE), or the exact ratio of minority-to-white background that is equally likely to be categorized as White or minority, differed for Asian-White and Black-White biracials.
